Branches was recently awarded $30,000 by Peacock Foundation, Inc. $15,000 helped to support Branches’ Summer Shade Camp and trained, equipped and employed 23 Branches youth from low-income families as Summer Shade Guides at Branches Florida City and Branches Lakeview. Summer Shade Guides serve as camp counselors and help lead all activities of summer programming. Branches’ staff provided support, but this employment offered our youth guides a chance to build their resume, learn employable skills, practice leadership and earn some money. Peacock Foundation Inc.’s grant also helped to cover the cost of field trips for the young campers at both locations, enriching their summer even further. Peacock Foundation Inc. also provided Branches with a $15,000 grant to support emergency assistance that is being provided to Branches families and community members in South Dade due to Hurricane Irma. Services include providing food and baby care packages and more.

“We are grateful for Peacock Foundation Inc.’s long-term commitment to the community.
