Having served in the United States Marine Corps, Ryan Cappadony has watched leadership manifest in several different forms. But it wasn’t until he stepped away from his time in the military that he found true, spiritual leadership.
As a pastor, Cappadony discovered new and inspiring methods for motivating others and advising a congregation. He examines how leadership can be used to help further God’s kingdom in “Inspired by God: An Approach to Biblical Leadership.”
“Inspired by God” explores authority and its use in the Bible. Cappadony examines styles of command and shows how the theories are implemented in Biblical text and practiced for godly purposes. Each chapter features insight on godly wisdom that centers on dignified positions within a group. With his work, Cappadony challenges readers to investigate their personal approach to management and provides guidance on how to be an effective advisor.
“I enjoyed the academic part of leadership and wanted to demonstrate how elements of skill can be found in the Bible,” Cappadony said. “I am convinced that every theory, style trait and approach in academic leadership had been demonstrated by people in the Holy Scriptures. Inspired by God will show readers where in the Bible they can look for these examples and how to apply them in their own life.”
