Janella Chappell shares an intense tale of friendship tested and life manipulated

After a traumatic experience, who do you turn to and who do you trust? You would assume running to family and friends would be the logical and emotional response, but what if they could not be trusted? Janella Chappell explores this concept with her new book “West.”

"West" follows the story of five girls and six boys as they enter Cave Run, Kentucky. One of the boys, A.J. West, leads the group and is accompanied by his uncle Frank. As A.J. traverses the path alone, four mysterious men suddenly attack him.

When uncle Frank learns of the attack, he immediately blames A.J.’s companions, casting doubt on their character and trustworthiness. A.J. is outraged by the news and decides to seek his own sinister revenge.

“I have been writing for as long as I can remember, working on crafting my art and building a story worth keeping you up at night to finish,” Chappel said. “I have finally done that with West. The relationships between the characters are tested often, especially for A.J. After what takes place in the woods, he has a hard time finding out who he can trust.”
