A resolution to see the world clearly – without prescription glasses or contact lenses – is being made easier than ever by the LASIK surgeons at SightMD, who are offering LASIK patients a $1000 savings and reminding everyone that LASIK is a resolution where the surgeon does ALL the work…and the patient reaps ALL the benefit, according to eye surgeon, Jeffrey Martin, MD, FACS, Chief Executive Officer of SightMD.

“Few medical procedures in life are more life-changing than LASIK,” said Dr. Martin. “Patients who’ve worn glasses & contacts for most of their lives can now wake up less than 24 hours after LASIK, open their eyes and see the world clearly without artificial eyewear for the first time in years.” Dr. Martin said the actual laser time to perform LASIK is under 60 seconds and most patients are able to drive themselves to their post-operative appointment the next day.

“In terms of New Year’s resolutions, this may be one of the easiest to keep and the most meaningful to remember,” said Dr. Martin. “The hardest part for patients making a resolution to stop spending money on prescription eyewear for the rest of their life and have a 30-second LASIK procedure…is simply making the initial contact or phone call.” Dr. Martin said most patients wait years before deciding to have it done because of fear about the procedure or financial constraints. “But what most people fail to realize is that in the long run, LASIK is much more affordable than a lifetime of corrective eyewear. And most patients tell us there was little if any discomfort and had they known how easy LASIK was to undergo, they would have done it years ago.”

According to the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), it estimated that men and women wearing prescription glasses & contact lenses for 20 years or more will incur over $10,000 in total expenses. The average price for LASIK is approximately $4000. “The sooner a patient has LASIK, the sooner they begin saving on not having to buy contact lenses, solutions, cleansers, new prescription glasses, prescription sunglasses and annual refractions,” Dr. Martin said.

To help make a LASIK resolution in 2018 more affordable, the LASIK surgeons of SightMD are offering all patients a $1000 savings voucher toward the procedure. “We know that patients want maximum value in all of the purchases – including LASIK – so my partners and I at SightMD are doing our best to make LASIK affordable for everyone.
