The annual snowshoe race everyone has been crowing about for the last 6 years is coming into 2018 with an exciting new title as the World Snowshoe Federation (WSSF) North American Showshoe Championship, a distinction that makes this family-friendly event even more attractive to eager, competitive snowshoers.

The annual snowshoe race everyone has been crowing about for the last 6 years is coming into 2018 with an exciting new title as the World Snowshoe Federation (WSSF) North American Showshoe Championship, a distinction that makes this family-friendly event even more attractive to eager, competitive snowshoers. But the event's fun atmosphere is still a top priority for Jeremy Drowne, the race organizer and co-owner of Kinetic Running in Downtown Plattsburgh. Jeremy takes great pride in this race because "it allows for all ages and abilities to give snowshoeing a shot while showcasing and benefiting the beautiful, 298 acre New Land Trust", which is run by a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and sustaining the property for health of the environment and the enjoyment of the public.

Since its start, Cock-A-Doodle-Shoe has seen tremendous growth and its success will only continue to expand with this new title. 2018’s Cock-A-Doodle-Shoe race will include:

  • Kid’s Snowshoe Scramble 1/2 Mile
  • WSSF North American 5K Junior Snowshoe Championship
  • WSSF North American Open/Masters 10K Snowshoe Championship
