Dr. Simon Jones to Present at PROPEL Energy Tech Forum 2018
PASADENA, Calif. (PRWEB) January 06, 2018 -- Dr. Simon Jones, co-founder of Fluid Efficiency, has been invited to present the benefits of MegaSupraMolecules™ (MSMs) in pipelines, lubricants and fuels at the 2018 PROPEL Energy Tech Forum in Calgary, Alberta on February 7 & 8. The presentation will be attended by a large group of energy industry executives and investors.
According to its organizers, the PROPEL Energy Tech Forum “brings together the best, boldest, most innovative emerging and established energy technology companies.” Attendees include major oil & gas companies, emerging energy technology companies, and investors from throughout North America and the rest of the world.
“We are honored to have been selected to present at this outstanding event,” said Jones.
Originally developed at Caltech to control misting in fuels to eliminate explosions, Fluid Efficiency's MSMs are a suite of molecules that makes fuels safer, improves the viscosity index of lubricants, and makes oils easier to move through pipelines. MSMs are made up of smaller units ("long telechelic end-associative polymers") that self-assemble into very large supra-molecules that improve the material properties of organic liquids. The individual units are small enough to resist degradation even under high-temperature, high-shear conditions like engines and pumps.
“In 2017 Fluid Efficiency began delivering samples of its MegaSupraMolecules to customers in the pipeline, lubricant and fuels industries. Their ability to self-repair is transformational in these fields. They enhance pipeline flow like traditional DRAs but never need to be reinjected, simplifying operations and reducing cost. Our MSMs also show superior performance as viscosity modifiers in lubricants: they have excellent shear stability and very long life. We are excited to share our story with this broader audience.”
Fluid Efficiency is a Caltech spin-out that makes lubricants, fuels and oils safer, longer-lasting and more efficient to move. Their core products are self-assembling polymer additives that modify viscosity, reduce explosiveness, and improve pumpability. For more information visit http://www.fluidefficiency.com
