34 Evergreene Homes Homeowners Recognized by Vienna Community Enhancement Commission For Excellence in Energy Efficiency.
VIENNA, Va. (PRWEB) January 09, 2018 -- The Town of Vienna, Community Enhancement Commission and the Town Council recognized local builder, Evergreene Homes, and 34 of their homeowners for excellence in home energy efficiency. The ceremony was held Monday evening at the Council Chamber at Town Hall in Vienna.
As part of a program that encourages building homes that are more comfortable and have an overall lower impact on the environment, the Town of Vienna awarded the local builder because it achieved HERS scores of 70 or better on each of the 34 homes. Evergreene Homes has been consistently building homes that achieve an average HERS score of 55 as part of their commitment to home energy efficiency.

The Home Energy Score, (HERS), is a national rating system developed by the U.S. Department of Energy. The Score reflects the energy efficiency of a home based on the efficiency of a home's overall design and the details related to air sealing, insulation, heating, cooling, and hot water systems. Evergreene Home’s average HERS score has beat even the Town of Vienna’s aggressive standards 15 points.
