Dr. Bala Ganesh Gopurala joins The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation
DOWNEY, Calif. (PRWEB) January 11, 2018 -- Dr. Balaganesh Gopurala is a board certified hematologist that brings over 20 years of medical experience to The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation.
Dr. Gopurala began his undergraduate education in Andhra Pradesh India, completing a Bachelors of Science in Biological and Chemical Sciences at Sri Venkateswara University Chittoor in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. He then completed a Masters of Science in Biology and then went on to receive his Medical Degree from Sri Venkateswara University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Gopurala completed his residency from Carraway Medical Center in Brimingham Alabama in Internal medicine and then fellowed at the Division of Hematology and Oncology, School of Medicine at the University of Alabama.
Dr. Gopurala has an extensive formal and supervisory teaching background. He has lead lectures and presented at lecture series including the topics of: Integrative Medicine, Preventive Oncology, Chronic Leukemia, Lung Cancer, Myeloproliferative Syndromes, Head and Neck Cancers, Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Breast Cancer, and Acute Leukemias. He stays current in research and has a number of Abstracts, Reviews, Book Chapters, and Symposium Publications. He has received a number of awards from both the United States and India. In 1984, he received the State Merit Scholarship Award for Outstanding Academic Performance from Sri Venkateswara University, and most recently, he was inducted into the International Association of Healthcare Professionals and 2015’s Alabama's Top Oncologist from the International Association of Oncology.
Dr. Gopurala stays active in clinical research studies and continues to attend post graduate education.
Dr. Gopurala is fluent in Telugu.
