HEALTHCAREfirst Participates in Medicare Care Choices Model Caregiver Experience of Care Survey
Springfield, Mo (PRWEB) January 16, 2018 -- HEALTHCAREfirst, the leading provider of Web-based home health and hospice software, billing and coding services, and advanced analytics, announces its participation in the Medicare Care Choices Model (MCCM), Caregiver Experience of Care Survey (CECS).
The CECS includes questions from the CAHPS Hospice Survey plus up to 15 supplemental questions that address issues of particular interest for the MCCM evaluation, such as shared decision-making and coordination of care. The survey will be distributed by RAND but must be closely coordinated with HEALTHCAREfirst who maintains responsibility to administer the CAHPS Hospice Survey and submit data to CMS for those hospices participating in the MCCM.
There are approximately 100 hospices around the country currently participating in the MCCM to explore the benefits to patients under hospice care while receiving care from community providers. The administration of the CECS will begin in January 2018 with October 2017 decedents and is slated to end with the survey administration for June 2020 MCCM enrollees.
“We are pleased to be partnered with over twenty forward thinking hospices who are interested in exploring this new model of care,” said J. Kevin Porter, CEO of HEALTHCAREfirst. “We are here to support them with the unique requirements they are faced with and know that it isn’t easy to keep up with all the regs, much less take on additional administrative burden voluntarily. We commend these hospices for their dedication to advancing care delivery and enhancing the end-of-life experience."
“For us the Medicare Care Choices Model is a way to explore new ways for enhancing the end-of-life experience for patients and families,” said Gale Hankins, Quality Compliance Coordinator at Bluegrass Care Navigators. “We appreciate our partnership with HEALTHCAREfirst who enable us to pursue these goals with greater ease and without adding additional costs.”
