There is only one thing that will solve the problem: restoration of fathers to the family

Within the pages of Glover Washington’s new book, The Assignment, ($14.49, paperback, 9781545609095; $6.99, e-book, 9781545609101) the author discusses familial restoration according to the belief that God will send the prophet to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children’s hearts to their fathers.

“Many ‘experts’ have confronted the issue of fatherlessness without offering a valid solution to the problem,” states the author. “There is only one thing that will solve the problem: restoration of fathers to the family. Not father ‘figures’, but the genuine article. It is my hope that men will have restored relationships with their children, and children to get to know their fathers and be blessed by them. It is the good word that comes from the father that can make the difference in a child's life.”

Glover Washington grew up without a consistent relationship with his own father, which inspired him to research and analyze the effects of absentee fathers. He has previously written Shame’s Anatomy, which focuses on the breakup of the African American family and shows the correlation between growing up fatherless and living in poverty or committing crime.
