Aaron Wolf’s Award-Winning Film “Restoring Tomorrow” to Embark on Cutting Edge Theatrical Run as Dalton Pictures Teams with Howling Wolf Productions

As superhero tent-poles continue to flood the ever-changing Hollywood landscape, Wolf’s film about real-life heroes has fueled a movement to restore, reinvent and revitalize communities across America and will now be doing the same in theaters.

On a much larger scale, in these days of division, this film is really all about the connection that is possible when we are brought together by the places that truly matter to us.

Howling Wolf Productions will partner with Dalton Pictures for the upcoming theatrical run of Aaron Wolf’s acclaimed feature film, “Restoring Tomorrow,” beginning in March 2018.

“Restoring Tomorrow” is a rare film of hope that shows how, in these divided times, treasured cultural landmarks and community institutions can redefine and unite us.

The film documents two journeys. First, it chronicles the rise and fall and rise again of the iconic landmark, Wilshire Boulevard Temple, which was built in the 1920s by the original Hollywood moguls but, by the 21st century, was literally crumbling. Second, there is Wolf’s own journey, having been raised at the Temple but, like so many Millennials, he had strayed from his religious home. These two stories intertwine as the Temple boldly sets out on a $150 million project to restore not only the soaring sanctuary, but the core of the bustling metropolis. Wolf is brought in to document this incredibly ambitious, complex and risky undertaking and, in so doing, not only discovers how an irreplaceable landmark can be restored but finds that he personally is restored as well.

“I am thrilled to partner with Dalton Pictures so that ‘Restoring Tomorrow” can inspire even more people to make a difference in their own communities,” Wolf said. “While making the film, I felt I was becoming something of a microcosm of my generation, having lost connection with my roots and then finding wonderful new relevance in a place that had so much meaning for me in my youth. On a much larger scale, in these days of division, this film is really all about the connection that is possible when we are brought together by the places that truly matter to us. The Temple’s restoration has dramatically demonstrated what every community can achieve, if we dig down deep and reconnect with who we are and what we stand for. In a sense, this is what movie theaters do – bring people together. But, in the case of this film, they aren’t being brought together to see a fictional action hero achieve impossible feats, but instead real-life heroes who show us the amazing things that are possible in the communities where we live.”

"The first time I watched ‘Restoring Tomorrow,’ it was like the preverbal light bulb going off,” said Jerry Dalton, founder of Dalton Pictures. “This film needs to be available to the public in a big way, and that means theaters. In every city and town, theaters provide the community to foster the conversation about preserving community, which the film so beautifully and poignantly dives into. “2017 saw a decline in studio box office numbers thanks to the fact that more than 50% of the American public no longer frequents the cinema,” Dalton added. “To a large extent, audiences are not identifying with the stories or the characters on the screen and, let's face it, you can only go see sequels so many times. The American public is smarter than the studios give them credit for. They want to be engaged with, attached to and drawn into the story. We in the movie industry have an opportunity to do well by doing good, presenting entertaining movies that inspire hope and bring people together. ‘Restoring Tomorrow’ is exactly this sort of film, serving as a new-wave building block to help restore the tomorrow of movie theaters around the country.”

While Dalton rolls out the film in theaters, Oscar-winning distribution partner Seventh Art Releasing will continue the film’s private screening tour.
