MERIDIAN, Idaho (PRWEB) January 12, 2018 -- Custom home builder PrecisionCraft Log & Timber Homes received four 2017 Best in American Living™ Awards (BALA) presented by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Awards were announced at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Florida on January 10, 2018.

Awards presented to PrecisionCraft Log & Timber Homes include:

  • Steamboat Timber Home, 2017 BALA Single-Family Custom Platinum Award: One-of-a-Kind Custom or Spec Home 1,501 - 2,500 sq. ft.
  • Georgetown Lake Home, 2017 BALA Single-Family Custom Gold Award: One-of-a-Kind Custom or Spec Home 4,501 - 6,000 sq. ft.
  • Bowling Green Residence, 2017 BALA Specialty Silver Award: Design Detail

In addition, the Steamboat Timber Home was recognized as the Best in the Region, Mountain.

All three homes were designed by M.T.N Design, the in-house architectural design firm of PrecisionCraft Log & Timber Homes. PrecisionCraft also fabricated and installed the log and timber materials of all three homes, and completed the full construction on the Georgetown Lake Home.

The Steamboat Timber Home is a 2,415-square foot home that seamlessly fits in with the style of homes found in charming Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This home is designed to take advantage of the 360-degree views and the local weather patterns. A large wrap-around porch helps mitigate the sun’s rays and protects the home from snow. And, a three-sided patio on the east side of the home was advantageously designed to capture the afternoon shade creating a welcoming place to have an outdoor meal.

The Georgetown Lake Home effortlessly cascades its 4,593 square feet with the landscape outside of Butte, Montana. This allows nearly every room access to outdoor space, including the living room with a fully retractable wall of glass. This highly energy efficient home uses an insulated concrete form (ICF) foundation and structural insulated panel (SIP) wall and roof system. It also features a cold roof and home automation system.

High-end custom design meets traditional, rustic log home in the Bowling Green Residence. The winning design detail created by multiple large, flared Western Red Cedar character posts is awe inspiring. Their tremendous height enhances the feel of the two-story great room and blends seamlessly with the rest of the post and beam log structure.
