Evinrude Donates to Toys for Tots of Mitchell County
SPRUCE PINE, N.C. (PRWEB) January 15, 2018 -- Evinrude, a BRP company, was recognized this weekend for its support of the local Toys for Tots of Spruce Pine, NC, becoming its largest ever monetary donor with a $3,000 contribution.
Evinrude was asked by Toys for Tots of Spruce Pine coordinator, Mark Thomas, to help distribute toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Employees of the Spruce Pine Evinrude manufacturing plant delivered. In addition to the $3,000 donation, employees purchased gifts for the remaining three children on the Mitchell County Department of Social Services “Angel Tree” before Christmas.
“Evinrude is committed to supporting our local community in whichever way we can. What better way to do so then to bring smiles to the children who deserve everything they want and more for Christmas,” said Melissa Carter, Office Coordinator of the Spruce Pine, NC, Evinrude plant. “Not only did our employees come together to buy what was on their wish lists, but went above and beyond to make this a memorable holiday for the teenagers on our list.”
The Toys for Tots of Spruce Pine, NC, held an Appreciation and Awards night on Saturday, January 13th, to thank Evinrude and other donors who made an impact in 2017.
“We are very grateful to have such caring people in our community,” said Thomas. “Mitchell County is lucky to have Evinrude in Spruce Pine and we look forward to continuing our relationship with their generous team.”
“Our employees in Spruce Pine and across the country care greatly about their communities and, when they find an opportunity to give back, always come through,” said Tracy Crocker, senior vice president and general manager of Evinrude. “We are proud of the efforts of our Spruce Pine team and, in 2018, Evinrude will continue to support local communities in which we reside while identifying important opportunities to give back to people across the country.”
