(PRWEB) January 16, 2018 -- Dr. Gregory Toback, board-certified periodontist, will be giving a lecture for the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He will be speaking on the topic titled: “The Realities of Ailing Implants: Does Anything Really Work?” The event, titled “The New Era of Periodontal Therapy: Treating the Mixed Dentition of Teeth/Implants – a Four Topic Lecture,” will also feature periodontists, Drs. Michael Sonick, Vincent LaPorta and Lawrence Gelb. When he is not lecturing, Dr. Toback practices as a respected periodontist offering a variety of studied periodontal treatments including dental implants in New London, CT and his second location in Westerly, RI.
The CSDA provides professional continuing education for dental professionals and their staff to enhance their skillset and assists them in providing high-quality care to patients. The CSDA series features seven courses throughout 2018 that provide continuing education credits for attendees to keep them up-to-date on the latest dental trends and technologies.
During his course, Dr. Toback will be reviewing the common understanding of damaged or ailing implants and will emphasize early detection of peri-implantitis (the disease affecting dental implants). He will cover treatment options with evidence-based approaches, non-surgical treatment, incisional surgery and laser implant treatment.
“We have thousands of dental implants in our local dental communities and within our practices and unfortunately a lot of them are not all that healthy,” said Dr. Toback on his topic of implant complications. “So, we are going to talk that day about diagnosis. When we see our patients and we have bleeding probing depths, we have suppuration—what do we do about it?”
A leader in his field of periodontics, Dr. Toback frequently lectures on topics such as dental implants and periodontal treatments.
