Online Culinary School Rouxbe Joins ACLM’s Lifestyle Medicine Corporate Roundtable As Leader In Optimizing Knowledge For Healthier Cooking
ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) January 18, 2018 -- The American College of Lifestyle Medicine has announced the addition of online culinary school Rouxbe to its Corporate Roundtable, a group of individuals and organizations whose collective vision is sustainable human health, a sustainable healthcare system and a sustainable world.
Founded in 2005, Rouxbe provides online culinary training to more than 400,000 individuals, health care providers and organizations globally. Rouxbe’s goal is to help people become better, more confident, healthier cooks in kitchens around the world.
"A whole-food, plant-based diet is one of the foundations for a healthy lifestyle, but many haven’t had the opportunity to learn healthy cooking,” said ACLM President George Guthrie, MD, MPH, FACLM. “Through its online platform, Rouxbe is empowering people to take charge of their health through food and cooking. ACLM is pleased to add this important resource to our Corporate Roundtable.”
“We support the American College of Lifestyle Medicine because its members are on the front lines of a lifestyle medicine revolution and they are eager to learn and collaborate,” said Ken Rubin, Rouxbe Chief Culinary Officer. “This directly speaks to our mission to democratize access to culinary instruction, since learning to cook is absolutely a key determinant to improving the health and well-being for people around the world."
The Corporate Roundtable of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine convenes healthcare and lifestyle thought leaders, with a keen focus on the power of Lifestyle Medicine to transform health and healthcare. Roundtable members explore effective Lifestyle Medicine clinical applications, strategies for accelerating reimbursement and adoption and analysis of potential business-related opportunities. The Roundtable launched in 2015 and has grown to include over 25 active member organizations.
