Notable new clients during 2017 included scallop industry leader Northern Wind, Spain’s world famous Mahón--Menorca Cheese, Asian noodle category leader JSL Foods, Steviva Ingredients, Stirrings Cocktail Mixers, Tresomega Nutrition, CFE International, Plocky’s Fine Snacks, Sesame King, Great Eastern Seafood and Healthy Brand Oil.

During 2017, Thought For Food & Son introduced food companies to the power of social media by implementing their proprietary blogger recipe challenge where bloggers could compete for prize money by creating recipes using the manufacturer’s food products. The challenge placed food manufacturer’s products in front of millions of consumers while generating tremendous amounts of user generated content that can be used across the manufacturer’s own social media platforms. As part of the challenge, all the recipes and product photography become the property of the participating food manufacturer.
Thought For Food & Son was selected as the first agency to market Spain’s Mahón--Menorca Cheese in the United States. Thought For Food & Son implemented a national integrated campaign built around the brand positioning of “The Most Prized Cheese In Spain.” Campaign tactics included the introduction of both a U.S. Facebook and Twitter page, Brand Ambassadors for holiday recipe creation and traditional public relations. Some highlights of the campaign included consumer and food trade media placements in the New York Times, Wine Buzz Magazine, Culture Magazine, Deli Business, Cheese Market News and the Cheese Reporter. Brand Ambassador programs generated over 1.3 million impressions, 3,300 Pinterest Re-pins, 1,861 Instagram likes and 259 comments.
Thought For Food & Son also completed numerous packaging design projects including working with leading direct scallop off-loader Northern Wind in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Thought For Food & Son was tasked in rebranding Northern Wind’s Captain’s Call, Mariner’s Choice and Sea Spray scallop product lines. Design elements included new logos, retail packaging, foodservice packaging, product sell sheets and shipping boxes. PR duties and a new website are now being implemented.
