As of January 15, 2018, Capelli is responsible for the planning, organizing and executing of all IT functions, including overseeing existing applications, developing new technical solutions, and providing leadership to department staff. Capelli says, “My goals are to ensure the stability and functionality of the current environment, and to drive new product development that leverages the capabilities and talent of Aleron.”
Capelli’s twenty-seven years of programming and technical experience has been cultivated with companies such as SUNY Buffalo and IBM. In his most recent position as Vice President of the IT Network and Infrastructure at Catholic Health System of Western New York, Capelli was responsible for the implementation of all CHS infrastructure services, including the complete management of the Help Desk and Operations organization. An expert at managing cross-functional teams for the delivery of infrastructure and applications, his consulting background provides him the interpersonal skills necessary to aid in complex deal negotiations with vendors and customers.
The CISSP-certified Capelli obtained his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his MBA in Corporate Finance from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester. Throughout his career, he has balanced his intricate knowledge of both corporate IT with the customer side of the business, a valuable skill that will aid in developing Aleron’s technical abilities while retaining its people-driven priorities.
