The BACnet Institute’s Successful First Year Helps Promote the BACnet Standard
ATLANTA (PRWEB) January 22, 2018 -- The BACnet Institute (TBI), the e-learning environment offering on-demand courses, multimedia resources and community forums, is celebrating its first anniversary, having launched during the AHR Expo 2017. The platform is a central resource that serves as a comprehensive, globally relevant online source of information and education related to BACnet system implementation.
In the last twelve months, TBI has registered over 1,100 users across 80 countries worldwide. The first course, BACnet Basics, was viewed by over 650 people and received favorable feedback on its distribution and content. There are over 100 resources available on the site, including articles, videos and recordings of BACnet presentations from various trade shows, which were accessed over 1,200 times.
“Having conducted an extensive study focused on the needs of our audience, we knew there was a strong desire for an independent source for additional BACnet information and education,” said Andy McMillan, president and managing director of BACnet International. “We’re pleased with so many people taking advantage of the resources The BACnet Institute has to offer. We are working to continuously add content and keep the site current and relevant.”
Plans are underway to add more courses, including the soon to be released The Facility Manager's Guide to Building Automation Systems. This new course will provide insight on how facility managers can effectively participate in and contribute to BACnet-based building automation projects. While the course is focused on the facility manager's perspective, it will also be a useful resource for other key professionals in the BAS integration process, including building owners, contractors, project consultants, and even IT professionals.
