Tax Professional Noe Martinez Educates People on how to Properly Budget
HOUSTON (PRWEB) January 22, 2018 -- A budget makes one responsible for their goals and outcomes. “Saving can also buffer you from a chain reaction of catastrophic events,” said Noe Martinez, owner of Liberty Tax Service.
In order to help people save and budget, Martinez lists the following five tips:
No. 1: Create a written budget. Writing a budget in black and white gives it more meaning. “Include your spending habits,” noted Martinez. “Ask yourself, ‘Do I spend impulsively? Do I have cash to make it through the next paycheck?’”
No. 2: Gather receipts. People should keep all receipts for one month, including pay stubs, utility bills, credit card statements, etc. “Put all your information on paper, in an Excel spreadsheet or other document,” advised Martinez. “Subtract your expenses from your income.”
No. 3: Look for ways to cut back. “Try making small sacrifices now to put you in a better position in the future and to accomplish your goals,” stressed Martinez. “Weigh whether you need something or if you just want it.”
No. 4: Put money in a savings account. “Pay yourself by putting money into a savings account for a short-term or long-term goal,” stated Martinez. “Set aside some money for unexpected expenses, such as car repairs, etc.”
No. 5: Don’t give up. “If you slip up, get back on track immediately and continue working on your goals,” concluded Martinez. “Learn from your mistakes.”
