180 Medical Invites College Students to Apply to Its Annual Scholarship Program
OKLAHOMA CITY (PRWEB) January 23, 2018 -- 180 Medical, a leading home delivery provider of medical supplies, is pleased to announce it is currently accepting applications for its annual scholarship program.
The scholarship program was created in 2012 by 180 Medical’s founder, Todd Brown. In 1994, Todd Brown was injured in a motocross accident which left him a paraplegic. His injury did not limit his passion, though, and he founded 180 Medical to provide products and the best service experience possible to those living with medical conditions which require the use of catheters and/or ostomy supplies.
In keeping with that role of service, integrity, and compassion that 180 Medical upholds as a company, both across the nation and in the local community, Todd Brown and 180 Medical developed the scholarship program in order to help aspiring college students with medical conditions that often create a financial burden on top of other challenges.
“Every year, we’re excited to see the applications that pour in from students across the country,” says Mark Jassey, COO of 180 Medical, “And despite everything these students have been through, they are so positive and have achieved so much. It’s such an honor to be able to help them on their journey toward their goals.”
The 180 Medical College Scholarship Program application period is currently open, taking place from January 1, 2018 to June 1, 2018. Eligible applicants must be U.S. residents who plan to enroll full-time in at an institute of higher education for an associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or a graduate degree. Applicants must also provide proof of being treated for one of the following conditions: neurogenic bladder, ostomy (ileostomy, urostomy, colostomy), transverse myelitis, spina bifida, and/or a spinal cord injury.
Each scholarship will be a $1,000 award that goes toward the recipients’ tuition and fees at a higher education institution of their choosing.
Students who are interested in the scholarship program can go to http://www.180medical.com/scholarships to download a scholarship application and find out more about eligibility requirements, as well as when the awards will be announced on 180 Medical’s Facebook page.
This year will be different than previous years as applicants are allowed to submit a video in lieu of a typed personal essay if they so choose. 180 Medical looks forward to seeing your stories as you prepare to pursue your academic goals.
