Annette Bolton’s New Book “19th Century Love Affair of Joseph Smith and Emma Hale” Is a Poignant Story That Delves into Love, Marriage, Children, and Religion
GRANTSVILLE, Utah (PRWEB) January 24, 2018 -- Annette Bolton, a former senior instructor for homeschooled students and an active member of the Mormon church who resigned with her husband in 2016, has completed her new book “19th Century Love Affair of Joseph Smith and Emma Hale”: a well-researched work on the historical accounts of the Latter-Day Saints to address issues and consequences of polygamy, polyandry, and child marriage.
Author Bolton includes the many wives of Joseph Smith, like Desdemona Fullmer: “Desdemona married Joseph Smith in July of 1843. As Joseph continued to secretly accumulate wives, his first wife, Emma, struggled with polygamy. Perhaps Desdemona experienced, or maybe only feared, the anguish of Emma discovering her and Joseph’s relationship. She recalls the resultant anxiety: “In the rise of polygamy I was warned in a dream Amy [Emma] Smith was going to poison me.” Desdemona was not poisoned and remained Joseph’s wife until he was killed in June of 1844. In 1846, before leaving for Utah, Desdemona had her sealing to Joseph reperformed in the Nauvoo Temple.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Annette Bolton’s enlightening historical fiction that takes into account historical events that show the evolution of the Latter-Day Saints as a religion or belief system. It also features photographs to accompany encyclopedic information on Mormonism.
