Softex Announces OmniDefend, Delivering Cloud-Based Customer Verification and Identity Management to the Banking and Financial Services Industries

OmniDefend CVS, Softex's first product based on the OmniDefend Identity Management architecture, will enable banks to provide additional value to their customers and employees by simplifying the verification process. Customers will be able to quickly and easily sign in to their accounts with their fingerprint, eliminating the need to provide identification or account information to carry out banking transactions.

Softex Inc., an established market leader in Enterprise Single Sign-On, Identity and Access Management and Data Protection Solutions, today announced OmniDefend and its initial product implementation, OmniDefend Customer Verification System (CVS), at the IBEX tradeshow in Mumbai, India, one of the largest tradeshows for the Fintech industry. Softex will be showcasing and demonstrating its new OmniDefend solution at booth D408 at IBEX from February 1-3 at MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, India.

With OmniDefend CVS, banks and financial institutions will be able to address many of the cybersecurity issues facing the BFSI Sector today; data breeches and identity fraud. OmniDefend CVS will enable banks to provide additional value to their customers by enhancing and simplifying the customer verification process. Customers will be able to quickly and easily sign in to their accounts with their fingerprint, eliminating the need to provide identification or account information to carry out banking transactions. In addition, employees and tellers will be able to sign in to their accounts and banking applications without the need to remember passwords, reducing the number of password-related support issues.

OmniDefend CVS

OmniDefend CVS is Softex's first implementation of the OmniDefend architecture designed for the banking industry, providing extended APIs and reporting to allow financial institutions to easily integrate employee login via strong authentication with OmniDefend through its Core Banking Systems (CBS) operator screens. OmniDefend CVS APIs can be integrated into any financial application (e.g. ATM machines, physical access to safe deposit lockers, customer facing websites, etc.) The Core Banking system can make use of OmniDefend CVS APIs for strong authentication of transactions requiring employee approval and extensive reporting capabilities.

Softex is currently engaged in its first deployment of OmniDefend with a large commercial bank in Africa serving over 3 million customers, enabling the bank to perform credit checks as well as authenticate customers through the use of biometric technologies such as fingerprint or signature authentication.
