2018 AYF 8th Grade National All Star Game
BRADENTON, Fla. (PRWEB) January 25, 2018 -- December 31, 2017 -- The 2018 AYF/AYC 8th Grade National All Star game featured the top 60 football players from American Youth Football Nationwide. The event was held over a 4-day period at the campus of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from 12/28-12/31/17.
The participants checked-in at IMG on 12/29 and received SWAG (Gear, Clothing, and Etc.) from our many National Partners and Game Sponsors. The participants then checked-in to the dorm style apartments at IMG where they would reside for 3 nights. In the evening the participants had dinner at the IMG cafeteria followed by opening night practice under the lights.
On Day 2 the football players practiced twice that day once in the morning and once in the afternoon on the pristine field of IMG. MVP - Mobile Virtual Player came to the All Star game and both teams used the state of the art remote controlled tackling dummies during practice (see video below) the players ate 3 meals in the IMG Cafeteria and Dinner the teams had evening team meetings in the team building at IMG.
The participants practiced in the morning on day 3 for 3 hours. For the football players it was the final practice/preparation for the main event. All participants participated in Media Day Interviews, Team/Individual Photos. After Dinner the players were treated to an off campus trip to the local bowling alley where we had the AYF All Star Bowling Challenge Event. At the bowling alley the players received the AYF All Star Rings.
Game day on 12/31 all participants had breakfast together and then went over to the team building at IMG stadium for a Pre-Game Walk-thru. Kick-off was at 12:30pm. The game was excellent, full of action, and excitement. The Final score was East 27 - West 14. The series is now tied 5 -5 1 overall. The game saw the first ever kick off return for a touchdown by Tyler Morris from the Patriots Youth Football Illinois, a field goal was kicked by Jimmy Kibble from the Evergreen Hammers in Virginia, and Joseph Griffin III from the Springfield Tigers Massachusetts had 2 TD receptions including a one-handed 60 plus yard TD reception.
