Hoyt Tessener*, Gary Jackson, and Ryan Bliss, attorneys with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, were among the very limited number of North Carolina attorneys selected to the 2018 ‘Super Lawyers**’ and ‘Rising Stars**’ list by “North Carolina Super Lawyers” magazine.
Personal injury litigation attorneys Tessener and Jackson were named 2018 ‘Super Lawyers**’. Bliss, a workers’ compensation attorney and shareholder of the law firm, was named a 2018 ‘Rising Star**’.
No more than 5% of lawyers in each state are named to the ‘Super Lawyers**’ annual list, and no more than 2.5% of lawyers in any state receive the ‘Rising Stars**’ honor.
This is the 13th consecutive year that both Tessener and Jackson have appeared on the North Carolina ‘Super Lawyers**’ roster.
Tessener who leads the firm’s growing trial litigation practice, has more than 28 years as a successful litigator and has tried multiple multimillion dollar verdicts***.

Since 2008, Tessener has been selected to the “Best Lawyers in America’s**” annual list for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, and Product Liability Litigation – Plaintiffs. He won “Best Lawyers in America’s” ‘Lawyer of the Year**’ for the Raleigh area in 2016 for Product Liability Litigation and was selected to “Business North Carolina’s” ‘Legal Elite**’ in 2015.
Gary Jackson – ‘Super Lawyer’

Ryan Bliss – ‘Rising Star’
Bliss, who has practiced law for more than eight years is among less than 1% of attorneys in North Carolina who are Board Certified Specialists in NC workers’ compensation law****. He earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill and a B.A. in English from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, graduating magna cum laude.
