Pathbuilders Percepta® Milestone Number of Women Impacted in 2018
ATLANTA (PRWEB) January 26, 2018 -- The Pathbuilders Percepta program, comprised of interactive developmental workshops and peer networking, reached a special milestone in January 2018. Since the program’s inception in 2004, the careers of more than 1,000 women have been impacted through their participation in this unique group mentoring program.
The milestone was celebrated at the kick-off for the 2018 Spring Percepta class on Friday, January 12 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta. More than 100 women from across the southeast gathered to meet their peers and mentors for a half-day session which laid the groundwork for partnerships.
“I really enjoyed the format and engagement of the kick-off. I walked away with a lot of takeaways about myself, and I look forward to learning how I can be a more impactful leader,” said Nicole Joseph, senior program manager at Cox Communications.
The Spring 2018 mentee cohort is made up of 81 women with proven track records of professional success and are looking to step ahead in their careers. Over the course of the six-month program, Percepta mentees learn to deliver results in complex work environments. The participants learn about an array of topics such as managing their personal brands, building credibility and influence, and understanding corporate culture from subject matter experts with an average of 25 years of experience in organizations such as Assurant, The Coca-Cola Company, and IHG, to name a few.
Percepta mentors range from senior managers to vice presidents with diverse professional backgrounds and experiences. Many of the women who volunteer to serve as mentors are graduates of Pathbuilders’ Achieva® program, a year-long one-on-one mentoring program that positions mid-level female leaders for senior leadership responsibilities in their organizations. These women value the mentoring experience and want to give back to those who are following behind them.
"Having benefited greatly both personally and professionally from my own mentoring experience, I feel it’s only right that this experience should be given back to support other women in their careers. It’s a privilege to do this and personally rewarding too as I learn from each of their unique perspectives,” stated Bronagh Lavery, business transition director for IHG. Lavery is a graduate of the 2015 Achieva program, and this is her third time serving as a mentor in Percepta.
Mentoring is the core of Pathbuilders’ unique approach to developing female talent. Pathbuilders has developed programs for each of the four stages in a woman’s career. Percepta is designed for female managers and strong individual contributors in stage two of their careers – they have mastered the technical aspects of their jobs and are ready to impact their organizations. Percepta matches women to one or two peers who have similar developmental needs and are facing the same issues. Each group is then matched with the mentor who is best positioned to help the mentees reach their goals. This group setting creates a safe, open environment where mentees can discuss their goals and issues, positioning them for success in their organizations.
“Our clients’ dedication to moving women forward in their organizations has been overwhelming,” stated Helene Lollis, president and chief executive officer of Pathbuilders. “We are glad that our message has been resonating with more organizations in recent years.”
Over the last 14 years, mentees and mentors from companies such as Turner Broadcasting System, Cox Communications, Mercedes-Benz USA, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, Georgia Power Company, and The Home Depot have shared professional successes and continue to send their top female talent through the Pathbuilders programs year after year.
