The AST | Trellis Learning Center hosts an open house for the community to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.

Our goal is to prepare our clients for kindergarten, while also equipping them with the crucial skills they need to navigate their world with independence and confidence for years to come.

Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST) and Trellis Services will celebrate the grand opening of the AST | Trellis Learning Center in Columbia, Maryland with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. EST. The opening event invites local families, businesses and community leaders to see the new and celebrate individuals with autism, their families and the resources available to support them.

Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST) is one of the nation’s leading providers of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the most widely researched and empirically validated treatment available for individuals with autism. AST is proud to partner with Trellis, one of the largest and most respected ABA providers in Maryland to offer the best of their combined experience to families in Howard County, and Anne Arundel County.

Assistant Clinical Director for the Columbia Area, Ryan High, BCBA shared, “We are thrilled to be able to offer an excellent center-based option for families. Our early learning center will address a variety of areas including: communication, social skills, academic readiness, daily living skills, and the reduction of problematic behavior. Our goal is to prepare our clients for kindergarten, while also equipping them with the crucial skills they need to navigate their world with independence and confidence for years to come.“

The new center will be open from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and provides services to children ages 18 months to 5 years old. The focus is to build critical communication, social and independent living skills as well as feeding services. These goals are achieved through a range of methods including discrete trial teaching and natural environmental teaching, but always with a heavy focus on play-based strategies to keep children engaged and having fun. Programs are available year-round with individual one-on-one support from a highly trained Behavior Interventionist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst who tailors program goals to each child’s specific needs.
