GenCanna™ Welcomes Harvard Kennedy School’s Center For Public Leadership Fellows & Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture to Hemp Research Campus
WINCHESTER, Ken. (PRWEB) January 25, 2018 -- GenCanna Global, Inc., world leader in hemp-derived consumer products, hemp farming and genetics, proudly welcomed Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles and fellows from the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership to the Hemp Research Campus in Winchester, Kentucky. The twenty-four visiting students learned about all aspects of industrial hemp through conversations with representatives from GenCanna's farming, processing, production, sales, marketing and external relations departments.
"Harvard's Center for Public Leadership mentors future leaders around the world, and I'm glad they spent time learning about Kentucky innovators, like GenCanna, who are revolutionizing agriculture,” said Commissioner Quarles, ”As an alumni of the program, CPL gave me the confidence and network to succeed. We are honored they came to the Commonwealth when they could have traveled anywhere on the globe!”
The visit allowed the Harvard Kennedy School fellows to learn more about industrial hemp and hemp-derived products from GenCanna’s leadership and farming partners, and the group toured the facilities that serve as the core of the GenCanna Production Platform™. The economic impact of Industrial Hemp is being rediscovered in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place where hemp thrived as an agricultural product for centuries. GenCanna has much to share with the industry and looks forward to continued opportunities to educate and build relationships.
“It goes without saying that we have a responsibility to provide our customers with the highest quality product in the most efficient and healthy way possible, but we also have a social responsibility as one of the leaders in the hemp industry to educate the public on industrial hemp as food and clarify misconceptions when they exist,” said GenCanna’s Vice President of External Relations Kathryn Breiwa Robertson, “We are thrilled with the opportunity to expose a group of leaders and future policy influencers like the Harvard Kennedy School fellows to the industrial hemp industry and the impact it could have on our nation."
