Tenney Environmental announced the shipment of a Reach-In Vacuum Temperature Cycling Chamber to the aerospace industry. The temperature cycling chamber will be used for temperature altitude testing of aircraft collision avoidance radars.
The operating temperature range of this vacuum chamber is -70°C to 177°C with temperature control of +/- 1°C. and the altitude range is to 100,000 feet +/-2 mmHg. The work chamber dimensions are 36” W X 36” D X 36” H and is constructed with type 304 stainless steel. The through wall ports are continuously welded and a combination of fiberglass and polyurethane insulation surrounds the chamber to maximize insulating characteristics, thus ensuring minimal thermal transfer.
The vacuum temperature cycling chamber features vertical air circulation. The refrigeration system utilizes a customer requested liquid nitrogen (LN2) modulating cooling system that permits extreme low temperatures to be achieved with rapid pull-down. The LN2 is routed through an internal evaporator coil which allows the system to control both temperature and altitude at the same time. The VersaTenn V programmable controller includes RS-232 serial communications and advanced Ethernet capabilities. This customer requested an automated large high vacuum rated access gate valve port as an included option, shown above on the right hand side of the chamber.
