“Get-Along Stories: A Book of Modern Fables”: a collection of fables that teach children about differences and the need to get along with those who are different. “Get-Along Stories: A Book of Modern Fables” is the creation of published author, Terri Fisher. At age two, Terri’s mother taught her to read then cultivated her dream of becoming an author throughout her high school career. Her father was a galley typesetter for Rand McNally, so it seemed ink was in Terri’s blood. While in college, however, the medical field beckoned. Terri graduated from Columbia with a BS in Physical Therapy. She moved to the Phoenix-Scottsdale area where she enjoyed a twenty-two-year career until a devastating work injury forced a premature retirement. The dramatic shift in lifestyle forced her into a deep depression that caused a crisis in faith. Without realizing it, Terri had been given time and inspiration to embrace writing again. Terri is a lifelong Cubs fan, so she believes anything is possible.

“The warm sun and just a slightest of breeze combined to make it a good day if you were a kite, but a perfect one if you were a Frisbee—not just any old Frisbee, but a championship one made of glistening white plastic and adorned with all the specialized tournament regalia. It was built not only to fly, but to soar farther and longer than the common pedestrian model could only dream of going.” --Terri Fisher

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Terri Fisher’s new book teaches young readers that not everyone is the same, but everyone can get along.

“Get-Along Stories: A Book of Modern Fables” is a collection of children’s stories featuring an assortment of nonhuman characters who are endowed with some very human characteristics. They can be envious, prejudiced, egotistical, and prideful, but they are also friendly, compassionate, empathetic, and loving. In their adventures, they must learn to overcome their differences to get along.
