Akima, LLC, a U.S. Department of Defense contractor headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, announced this week the appointment of Scott Rauer as President of its Facilities Solutions Group. Rauer is a Huntsville, Alabama resident and a 22-year Army aviation veteran who previously led the Army and Department of State aviation programs for DynCorp International. Rauer’s addition to the Akima executive management team highlights the company’s ongoing long-term plans to support programs in Huntsville and remain involved in the Huntsville community.

Prior to commencing his career as a civilian, Rauer led the Army’s PEO (Program Executive Office) Aviation product office for OH-58D/F Kiowa Warrior Helicopters at Redstone Arsenal. “Scott comes with a wealth of experience and industry knowledge, including a history of collaboration within US Army AMCOM and SOCOM that will play a key role in providing and implementing top quality solutions for our customers,” said Bill Monet, Akima CEO. “We are optimistic about the impact he will have on our organization and are fortunate to have him join our team.” Rauer’s extensive experience in the Army Aviation market and well-known reputation for developing and maintaining outstanding customer relationships will be instrumental in working with Akima’s companies operating in Huntsville (Lynxnet, LLC; Tuva, LLC; Talu, LLC).
