Adolfson & Peterson Construction Tops Out UTPB’s New Engineering Building at Midland Campus
MIDLAND, Texas (PRWEB) January 29, 2018 -- AP is serving as the general contractor for this project, which will add a new 105,801 square foot Engineering building. Designed by JSA Architects, the new building will be three stories, containing classrooms, faculty offices, lecture halls, student collaboration spaces and laboratories for mechanical, petroleum and aerospace engineering programs. Once complete, the project will accommodate current and future engineering programs for the university, while enhancing the education of undergraduates and graduates through more efficient classrooms and meeting spaces. The project also includes a new parking lot for students and faculty. It will be the university’s first LEED project.
“The commitment of the entire project team is the foundation for success on this project,” said Corbett Nichter, President, Gulf States Region with AP. “From the very beginning, the construction and design teams have been aligned towards a common goal of providing a state-of-the-art facility to enhance the learning experience for students and faculty, and help build a first-class engineering school in this region.”
The event included a beam signing ceremony for school officials and members of the project team.
Substantial completion is currently slated for April 2019.
