Jay Crowley, VP of UDI Services and Solutions at USDM, developed and authored key requirements for UDI systems during his time as Senior Advisor for the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health. His extensive tenure in the regulated life sciences industry has allowed him to assist medical device companies in meeting ever-changing UDI compliance standards.

“I am excited to present at this year’s DTA Meeting and look forward to discussing UDI with members of the Dental Trade Alliance,” Crowley said. “This event comes at a critical time for international UDI harmonization and will help to further this discussion within the sector.”

The workshop will center on all things UDI including international harmonization.

Crowley will review the Medical Device and Dental Industry status relative to the US and other medical agency UDI regulatory requirements. The presentation will cover typical regulatory questions, concerns, issues and resulting process changes as well as future impact on the medical and dental industries. Crowley will also highlight EU MDR & IVDR UDI requirements and the lead activities necessary to prepare for these regulations.

Grant Hodgkins, VP of Supply Chain Services and Solutions at USDM, will add insight on his guidance and industry practices to build the systems, processes, and organizations to help companies meet the product identification and master data management challenges arising from the UDI initiatives and the resulting data sharing requirements. Hodgkins has three decades of experience in the Life Sciences industry designing, implementing, and managing complex global programs and operations.

The Dental Trade Alliance FDA Meeting is January 30-31 at the Doubletree Hotel in Silver Spring, Maryland.
