In February, Shady Grove Fertility physicians and program specialists will host 14 in-person and virtual events for current patients and information seekers to learn more about infertility, treatment options, insurance benefits, and financial programs.

Many people mistakenly believe that infertility is solely caused by the female partner. The reality is that 40 to 50 percent of all infertility cases are due to male factor infertility.

With 1 in 8 couples experiencing infertility, Shady Grove Fertility remains dedicated to its core mission to reach and teach the community about overcoming infertility. This month, Shady Grove Fertility will host eight seminars and six webinars on topics such as what your menstrual cycle says about your fertility, diagnosing male factor infertility, insurance and financial programs, and what to expect when meeting with a fertility specialist. Each event concludes with a question and answer session so that attendees have the opportunity to get their questions answered by the practice’s physician and specialist experts.

“Many people mistakenly believe that infertility is solely caused by the female partner. The reality is that up to 40 to 50 percent of all infertility cases are due to male factor infertility,” says Dr. Cori Tanrikut, one of Shady Grove Fertility’s in-house reproductive urologists. During the webinar, Dr. Tanrikut will cover male and female reproduction and the role it plays in a couple's ability to conceive, simple tests used to evaluate male fertility, and effective treatment options designed to overcome male factor infertility. To learn more about getting pregnant and male factor infertility, attend the webinar on Tuesday, February 27th at noon.

“What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting” is a seminar series that covers a variety of topics and walks attendees through the different touchpoints of the fertility journey. “Not knowing what to expect when seeing a fertility specialist is what prevents many people from scheduling that first consultation. What this event is intended to do is alleviate that fear by arming attendees with information so they can feel confident in taking that first step,” says Dr. Melissa Esposito who will be hosting the event on Tuesday, February 6th at 6:30 p.m. in Harrisburg, PA.

If you want to learn more about how a fertility specialist can help you conceive, find a seminar near you in one of the practice’s five regions: Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, or sign up for a virtual webinar. Visit the Shady Grove Fertility’s calendar of events. All events are complimentary but interested parties must register to attend.

If you are struggling to conceive, it may be time to see a fertility specialist. Contact the Shady Grove Fertility New Patient Center at 1-877-971-7755 or complete a brief online form and get started on your path to parenthood.
