‘Solving for X in the Y Domain’ Offers Women Techniques to Overcome Gender Barriers in Workplace
LONGWOOD, Fla. (PRWEB) January 31, 2018 -- Women are increasingly bringing to light the pervasive hurdles and barriers they face as they seek leadership opportunities. This book shifts the focus from the barriers that block women from leadership to the proven solutions for overcoming these forces. Wanting to equip women with the techniques to confront these obstacles, Walters wrote her new book, “Solving for X in the Y Domain: Strategies for Overcoming Gender Barriers to Leadership” (published by Archway Publishing), to offer proven solutions to those who aspire to leadership in fields in which they are a minority population.
“The growing awareness of the pervasiveness of sexual harassment by men in power and gender based barriers that women encounter in their careers makes this topic especially timely,” says Walters. “Importantly, the women featured in the book found ways to overcome these challenges in their male dominated fields and they want to share this knowledge with others – both men and women who are seeking ways to change this hostile environment.”
“This book provides a female perspective of the forces, issues, and barriers that women face when aspiring to leadership positions,” Walters explains. The stories are compelling, inspirational, and filled with specific tools, techniques, and tactics to overcome gender-based barriers to senior leadership positions.
