ASTM D975 now allows for D7683 Cloud Point Method for Diesel Fuels
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (PRWEB) January 31, 2018 -- CANNON Instrument Company, a State College based manufacturer offering a broad spectrum of high-quality, viscosity-related products and a variety of instruments for related physical property testing announced today that the Tanaka MPC-102S and MPC-102L can now be used to determine cloud point for diesel fuel oils as described in the ASTM D7683, “Test Method for Cloud Point of Petroleum Products and Liquid Fuels (Small Test Jar Method)” and according to ASTM specification D975, “Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils”.
The MPC-102S is a mini pour/cloud point tester designed for automatic determination of pour point and cloud point with small specimen size and shorter test cycle time while securing better test precision than the conventional manual methods. The cloud point measurement yielding a 0.1 °C resolution is by “Small Test Jar Method” (ASTM D7683) which is now allowed in ASTM D975. The MPC-102S features a compact design, easy sample handling, quick operation, and an energy efficient cryo block bath capable of cooling samples to -65 °C without an external liquid chiller.
