I Think, Therefore I STEM, WonderWorks 3rd Annual Science Week Is Here
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (PRWEB) January 31, 2018 -- Back by popular demand, science week is back! The team at WonderWorks is thrilled to present its 3rd annual Science Week. Beginning February 19th and running through the 23rd, an assortment of STEM educational activities will take place inside Destiny’s amusement park for the mind. Each day will be a different science topic filled with interactive learning.
“Science week offers so much diversity in STEM learning. We are so happy to have some amazing vendors from last year back and some exciting new additions,” said Nicole Montgomery, Director of Operations at WonderWorks Destiny. “We hope that those who experience Science Week are offered a new interest, or continue to study their STEM activity even after they leave.”
The schedule for WonderWorks Science Week 2018 is:
Monday February 19th – Mind Challenge Day – Get ready to solve puzzles, work with robots, and enhance your mind! Guests will learn about everything from depth perception and how mathematic thinking challenges the mind, to the brain’s ability to adjust to changing environments. Teamwork will help groups to develop solutions to interesting algorithms with a focus on the Rubik’s Cube. Presentations at 11:00am & 1:00pm
Tuesday February 20th – Drone Day – Drones are all the rage, but what is it like to actually fly one? Guests will get up close and personal with drones to learn how they work and what they are used for. They will also get to fly a drone using an advanced drone simulator. Presentations at 11:00am & 1:00pm
Wednesday February 21st Creativity and Imagination Day – Guests will participate in a friendly egg drop challenge from 3 stories up! The WonderWorks team will provide materials to construct a vessel for an egg to land safely and prizes will be given to successful egg droppers! Construct your vessel in the party room between 11:00am and 1:30pm, the last egg drops at 2:00pm.
Thursday February 22nd Energy in Motion Day – The team from Microsoft will use Hot Wheels to help students learn about speed and motion. By the end of the experience, participants will have built a spoiler switch to measure the speed of a model car, learn about kinetic energy, digital data, and so much more. Workshops will be held at 11:00am and 1:00pm
Friday February 23rd - The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango will be back, with a variety of live, scaly, feathery, and furry friends! Guests will be able to touch and learn about the unique traits of each of these incredible creatures. New to the lineup this year, a bearcat will be featured! Shows at 12:00pm and 1:30pm
In addition to sparking the interest of your inner-scientist, WonderWorks is a fun space for all ages to learn, explore and enjoy. All tickets for Science Week can be purchased online or at the door. Tickets are limited and offered per program.
