Clinical Immunology Society Announces New Foundation
MILWAUKEE (PRWEB) February 02, 2018 -- The Clinical Immunology Society (CIS) announces its newly instituted foundation. The CIS Foundation was created to support and provide educational opportunities for Fellows and Junior Faculty members of the Society in the form of travel grants, junior faculty awards, bridge grants, etc. The ultimate and overarching goal of the Foundation is to improve patient care for patients with immunological diseases.
CIS will pledge a one-time donation to the foundation in the amount of $100,000 with a goal of raising $1,000,000. Once the target amount of $1,000,000 is raised, the interest generated from the funds will be disbursed to support the educational mission of CIS.
“We are asking our members to support our ability to provide for the educational and research interests of our Fellows and Junior Faculty by contributing to the CIS Foundation in whatever way they can. Please bear in mind that as federal funding for research decreases, a generation or more of young scientists and clinicians will be left behind without immediate and robust support from other sources. The future of clinical immunology is at stake, and I am confident we can and will respond well to this challenge,” said CIS President, Roshini S. Abraham, PhD.
