L.J. Allison’s Newly Released “Trouble in Henlley” is an Evocative Story on the People of Henlley who Deal with Broken Relationships and Changes in the Community
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (PRWEB) February 06, 2018 -- “Trouble in Henlley”: a gripping book on resilience, unwavering faith and a collective effort by the community to save their town.. “Trouble in Henlley” is the creation of published author, L.J. Allison, who has served in many capacities of ministry.
Allison shares, “Dinah’s father, after the divorce, sent Dinah to the best private schools in another part of their state. Peg tried to see her as much as she could, driving down almost every weekend to attend her sporting events. But over time, it became too hard for Peg. The distance was too far and to pay for a hotel every weekend was too much. She started writing Dinah at least once a week, only to find out that her ex-husband was intercepting all of her letters. He had succeeded in poisoning Dinah’s mind against her. Twenty years later, Dinah was still bitter and angry.
Peg slowly dropped the phone down onto the receiver. Her head dropped back against her recliner. Tears rolled down her smooth brown cheeks. Her body trembled as she quietly sobbed.
Lord, please help me. I’ll never give up on her.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, L.J. Allison’s new book also deals with a complicated relationship between a mother and a daughter that has been broken and tainted by unfortunate events like divorce.
The small town of Henlley is a place where families attend church and spend time with each other, but this does not mean that there is no brokenness and deceit that is present in this seemingly ideal community. In the problems that the main characters have experienced in the story, Allison writes that the solution is found in the Lord, not in another person.
