“Thanks be to God for allowing me the many opportunities to share hope with so many others suffering with drugs and alcohol addiction over the years. It is my prayer that this book will help all of us to focus on serving almighty God in a dedicated way.” --Pastor J. Burnett Jackson
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Pastor J. Burnett Jackson’s new book introduces the need to be addicted to God.
“I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)” (1 Corinthians 16:15, KJV)
Author Pastor J. Burnett Jackson was a drug addict for over twenty years before he found God. In pursuit of an addiction, an addict will display an unwavering dedication, tireless drive, and creative spirit. Nothing will prevent an addict from fulfilling his obsession. 1 Corinthians 16:15 uses “addicted” to describe the kind of devotion needed to God and His Commandments. When Pastor Jackson first came across these words, he was drawn to them.
Pastor Jackson suddenly felt an insatiable calling to the ministries of Noah, Abraham, Elijah, David, Paul, Peter, and, of course, Jesus Christ. All of these Biblical figures were determined. No matter what happened, they relentlessly pursued their calling from God. They were extremely dedicated to the ministry of the saints. They were addicted to their pursuit of God. “The Right Addiction” details why God expects His Children to be addicted to Him
