Oak Street Health Experiences Significant Momentum in 2017 With 5 New Centers, Expands Executive Team to Spearhead Growth Initiatives
CHICAGO (PRWEB) February 08, 2018 -- After another year of major expansion, Oak Street Health, a network of health centers providing a new model of value-based primary care for Medicare patients, has expanded its leadership team to support its significant plans for additional growth. Tamara Jurgenson, now Chief Growth Officer, and Rob Guenthner, now Chief Legal Officer, will introduce new initiatives aimed at center expansion and improved patient outcomes.
Oak Street Health offers an integrated approach to healthcare, improving patient outcomes while decreasing costs in medically underserved communities. Demand for this model is at an all-time high, illustrating the need for more comprehensive services for people on Medicare than a traditional doctor’s office visit. Oak Street Health offers 24-hour access to physicians, flexible scheduling, transportation to office visits, community health and wellness events, state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated care team to coordinate all health needs. Oak Street Health now employs 1,100 team members including physicians, nurses, data analysts, and administrators to serve its more than 38,000 patients.
Oak Street Health currently has 25 centers open across the Midwest, with plans to expand to the East Coast with at least two centers in Philadelphia this spring. In particular, increasing demand for Oak Street Health’s value-based care in the Chicagoland area will drive at least three new centers in the region in 2018.
As Chief Growth Officer, Jurgenson will spearhead new initiatives that will support Oak Street Health’s commitment to rebuilding healthcare with a patient-centered approach. In addition to overseeing traditional marketing, outreach, and community engagement functions, Jurgenson will lead the effort to continually enhance the patient experience at Oak Street Health.
Jurgenson has a strong track record of building capabilities that drive sustainable revenue growth and improving the customer experience through data-driven insights. Prior to joining Oak Street Health she served as interim Chief Commercial Officer of TAKE2 and SVP of Global Strategy, Analytics and Customer Experience of Premier Farnell Group.
Rob Guenthner, Chief Legal Officer, has spent the majority of his professional career practicing in the health law and private equity arenas, where he gained extensive experience in complex multi-site operations. Immediately prior to joining Oak Street Health, Guenthner was a member of the senior management team of National Surgical Healthcare, a leading national provider of surgical healthcare services in partnership with physicians. Previously, Guenthner was a partner and health care practice group leader for Dentons, a global law firm, where he provided legal and strategic counsel across a wide array of healthcare industry segments.
“Tamara’s deep passion for supporting the senior population and Rob’s extensive experience in healthcare law will both be major assets in the development and success of our growth plans,” said Mike Pykosz, CEO and co-founder of Oak Street Health. “We are thrilled to be able to leverage their expertise to champion our mission.”
To further support Oak Street Health’s growth, the company has expanded its regional leadership team with several additional new hires to lead operations, the patient experience and managed care growth. For more information about Oak Street Health, visit http://www.oakstreethealth.com.
About Oak Street Health
Oak Street Health is a rapidly growing company of primary care centers for adults on Medicare in medically-underserved communities where there is little to no quality healthcare. Oak Street’s care is based on an entirely new model that is based on value for its patients, not on volume of services. The company is accountable for its patients’ health, spending more than twice as long with its patients and taking on the risks and costs of their care. Since 2013, Oak Street Health has been investing in communities across the Midwest – providing much-needed primary care for tens of thousands of people in 24 centers. The company recently announced an expansion to Philadelphia in 2018. For more information, visit http://www.oakstreethealth.com.
