Act to Matter Officially Endorses Three Progressive U.S. House Candidates
(PRWEB) February 07, 2018 -- Today, Act to Matter officially endorses three North Carolina House of Representatives candidates. We believe that the key to advancing a progressive platform is flipping Republican-held seats and restoring a Democratic House majority. We see these three Democratic candidates as having great potential to win in November: Ken Romley in District 2; Dan McCready in District 9; and Kathy Manning in District 13.
Ken Romley is a long-time resident of NC District 2 and has built four successful companies in NC, creating hundreds of jobs, while never forgetting that his employees were his most valuable asset. While in office he’ll push for policies that protect workers’ rights, while stopping tax handouts to big corporations.
Dan McCready, also a successful businessman, started his career in the Marines, ultimately serving in Iraq after 9/11. After being honorably discharged as a Captain, Dan co-founded a clean-energy company that created hundreds of jobs in North Carolina. With deep roots in District 9, strong family values, and a commitment to service, Dan will represent all the families in his district, not party leaders in Washington.
Kathy Manning is well-known in District 13 for being a business leader, philanthropist, and the first female board chair of the Jewish Federations of North America. She is open-minded, business-focused, and has traditional progressive values. Kathy believes we must focus on practical solutions to problems that plague North Carolinians, such as health care, rather than fight hyper-partisan battles.
Ken Romley, Dan McCready, and Kathy Manning share a progressive vision to help working NC families. For links to volunteer with or donate to their campaigns, visit http://www.acttomatter.com.
Act to Matter is a national political action committee dedicated to restoring a Democratic majority in the House. We must win in Republican districts where the odds are stacked against progressive candidates. Winning will require Democratic candidates who can earn Republican-leaning independent voters, and we believe pushing for electable candidates is the key to winning swing districts. Our mission is to mobilize progressive resources to support Democrats who can flip House districts in swing districts.
