Patriots and Paws, Nonprofit Supporting Veterans, Seeks Sponsors for Golf Tournament
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (PRWEB) February 14, 2018 -- Patriots and Paws, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Veterans throughout Southern California, will host their 4th annual golf tournament on Monday, May 7th at 1:30 PM at the SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach. Pursuing a $50,000 goal to support their home furnishing program, “Provisions for Patriots,” board members encourage local businesses of any size to take advantage of sponsorship opportunities. This year, their Tournament Title sponsor, Western Mutual Insurance Group, has already donated $10,000 to the event. Remarks will begin at 1:15 PM, and Veterans, golfers, and sponsors can expect a day of luxurious golfing, fine-dining, awards, and live/silent auctions.
Patriots and Paws began in 2011, thanks to founder Penny Lambright, who wanted to make it easy for Veterans to create a new home. Through their partnerships with WAGS Pet Adoption, an animal rescue organization, and the CIA (Canine Intelligence Academy), Patriots and Paws has since provided loving companions to Veterans, free of charge.
In addition to bringing about happy tales (and tails), they rent a local warehouse where anyone can donate lightly-used beds, appliances, and other home necessities for service members seeking to establish new lives. They also host an open house in April, as well as an October car/truck/motorcycle show to raise funds for warehouse rental space.
This year, Patriots and Paws hopes to surpass their previous funding records. Anyone can sign up to sponsor a Veteran for a round of golf, as well as donate to the evening’s silent and live auctions. Tom Pollitt, a Patriots and Paws volunteer, describes the importance of contributing: “First of all, the organization meets two different needs: home [furnishings] and dogs. That’s why it’s unique. I have met some of the people that it’s helped. It made a big difference in their lives. Anyone this organization has touched has nothing but good things to say about it.”
This tournament is not just for single players. Businesses are encouraged to take part and can choose between sponsorship tiers, ranging from $250 for a swag bag to $5,000 for the Pre-Tournament Lunch Sponsorship. In return, all of the promotional materials will feature the sponsors, offering visibility to participants, as well as their friends and associates.
This golf tournament is one of many of Patriots and Paws’ events throughout the year dedicated to giving hope and dignity to Veterans, Active Duty, and Reservists. Last year, some of the more notable sponsors included The Women’s Club of Orange, Griffin Structures, Inc., Infiniti of Mission Viejo, and WM: Waste Management. During this past year alone, Patriots and Paws has helped over 1,050 Veterans expand their home with furnishings and a companion dog, and they remain committed to exceeding this number in 2018.
