Author Mary Colquett’s Newly Released “Broadhorn” is the Story of Hart Macalpin and His Mission to Save the Mississippi Territory From British Invasion
WARM SPRINGS, Ga. (PRWEB) February 14, 2018 -- “Broadhorn” is the creation of published author, Mary Colquett. She shares, “After he had left Scotland, he had wandered around Europe for almost two years, Ada’s numerous letters left unopened. Her rejection of him in favor of Bruce consumed his every thought; so much so that he often found he had crossed a border into another country without having been aware of it at the time. He had wanted to fight, to inflict pain, to wound—anything—to ease his own misery.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Mary Colquett’s new book begins during the fall of 1811, when a great comet approached the Earth. It terrified the people who lived under its threat. Between the December of that same year and the spring of 1812, the San Madrid fault exploded with three major earthquakes. Living through these experiences, Hart MacAlpin must also deal with the threat of a British invasion in the vast Mississippi Territory, the murder of his brother Bruce, and his growing feelings for a young spinster from Mobile named Lessie Renard Lord.
Farms are being pillaged and people murdered. The only answer is to ferret out the British-paid leader who is working undercover in the small capital city of Washington, Mississippi. With the aid of his childhood friend, Tchula, a minor chief of the Choctaw nation, Hart is on the hunt. Traveling from the wealthy and expanding town of Natchez along the notorious Natchez Trace toward Nashville, Hart and his companion chart a collusion course. Soon, however, they are forced down the Cumberland River and Ohio Rivers into Mississippi via Broadhorn as a secondary plot is unveiled.
