Darlene Hill’s New Book “Seeing Life in the 1940’s & 50s through the eyes of a Nebraska Child” Is a True-to-Life Account About a Great-Grandma’s Juvenescence
SCOTIA, Neb. (PRWEB) February 14, 2018 -- Darlene Hill, an active church member, insurance seller, and certified wire welder, as well as a loving mother and grandmother, has completed her new book “Seeing Life in the 1940’s & 50s through the eyes of a Nebraska Child”: a touching recollection that tells the life and times of the author at the epoch of her youth.
Author Hill reflects a mixture of coziness and struggles in her life, and how she came around with finding meaning and purpose that fueled her desire to live and endure: “My folks didn’t have much money, so they were good at making due. For instance for birthdays and Christmas, Dad made me nice things out of wood. Some of the things he made me were a team of horses, a farm wagon, a doll cradle, table and chairs, a mower, an ironing board, a sled for riding in snow, and he made me a chest of drawers and dresser to keep my clothes in. Most everything he made me I still have. Daddy loved working with wood. I guess that’s where I get it. He didn’t have any nice tools like we have today, but he could make whatever he wanted.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Darlene Hill’s touching tale shows the well-lived moments in the author’s life, each moment shared amongst the loving company of friends and family.
