Many operators in waste management industry are suffering the difficulty of transferring high density sludge or slurry due to the lack of effective transferring equipment. Now GN pneumatic slurry transfer vacuum pump can be used as an ideal equipment to solve this problem. Fully air controlled, the vacuum pump is especially designed and applied for transferring high gravity and high density material from slurry to almost dry sludge.

Due to the fact that almost all of the materials transferred are high solids content, the waste vacuum pump is named solids transferring pump. With a special structure, the vacuum pump could be used in tough area for solids transferring with high working efficiency and less maintenance. The air compressor supplies air with rated pressure to the vacuum pump venturi Tube. The venturi tube will create a vacuum up to 25”HG (Mercury Column) which equals 85Kpa. This high vacuum will make the pump suck the slurry, which is the loading stage. After loading, the valves will automatically or manually switch to the discharge stage to discharge the material from the vacuum pump body by pneumatic power.

Main Application of Pneumatic Vacuum Pump

1. Vacuum Pump for waste mud drilling cuttings and waste solids discharged from primary shale shaker, mud cleaner and decanter centrifuge in drilling mud recycling system.

Normally, the used drilling mud including large content of cuttings would be treated by the solids control equipment for cuttings separation. The coarse cuttings discharged from aforementioned solids control equipment are still used with large content drilling fluid that is worthy to be recovered for reuse. The recovering process will be enacted by waste cutting management equipment like high G drying shale shaker or a vertical cutting dryer. Then the problems come. How to transfer the cuttings from solids control equipment to waste management equipment? The slurry vacuum pump can do the job very well. The screw conveyor is another option. However, compared with the screw conveyor, the vacuum pump has advantages of a) hose connection makes freely location of the vacuum pump b) no worrying about the spilling of liquid if using screw conveyor c) compact structure is better for limited site area, etc.

2. Slurry Vacuum Pump for waste pit cleaning
In some job sites or facilities, always oily sludge treatment plant, the waste sludge is first collected into a large pit and then transferred to other places for further treatment. The sludge pit sometimes is too deep to put a submersible. For personnel, the work would be difficult and dangerous. By connecting a hose at the inlet of the vacuum pump, the pump could suck the sludge from the place 50 meters out. With this advantage, the operators only need to insert the hose to the pit, then the problem is solved.

3. Vacuum Pump for oil tank bottom and vessel bottom clean out and residual removal
After a period of use, the oil storage tank and vessel cabin need to be cleaned out thoroughly. After high pressure water flushing, the bottom residual may include water, oil and even sands. The operator could easily move out the sludge by using GN’s vacuum pump.

In addition, the vacuum pump can also be used in drilling mud transfer, hazardous waste recovery, mining slurry transfer silo transfer, fine & coarse sand transfer and animal waste transferring.

Features of Vacuum Pump

1. 100% air operation
In a hazardous area, the air operated device would be the best choice for avoiding a spark contacting with flammable gas. GN pneumatic slurry vacuum pump is fully air operated, which is the safest method in the industry. Connected with the air compressor, the vacuum pump is driven as a shuttle system discharging and loading alternately. The operator can set the timer for automatic operation. Using this type of vacuum pump, the operator can transfer the sludge over 500 meters.
2. No moving part in gas chamber
The gas chamber is an important part of the vacuum pump, where the sludge will be stored temporarily, once the chamber is full, the pump will start the discharging process. As there is no moving part in the chamber, it is not easy to wear; it will need no maintenance inside the chamber.
3. Self-suction and long distance discharge.
One of the important features of GN pneumatic slurry vacuum pump is sucking the material up to 50 meters and discharge to over 500 meters away. This will make the job much easier for material conveying by pneumatic material transfer compared to auger or other conveying equipment.
