RICHMOND, Va. (PRWEB) February 18, 2018 -- On February 10, 2018, the Law Offices of Pershing Law, PLLC. & Miller Legal, P.C. filed a complaint entitled Valerie Oliver on behalf of herself and all others similarly situated v. MGB, Inc. d/b/a Pure Pleasure & Mr. William Pyliaris, Eastern District of Virginia, case # 3:18-cv-00096-HEH.
The Complaint alleges that the Defendants improperly classified exotic dancers as independent contractors rather than employees entitled to minimum and overtime wages pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act and that Defendants unlawfully charged employees (exotic dancers) to work each day in the form of fines, fees and tip outs. The complaint seeks to recover minimum wages at the rate of $7.25 per hour, plus an equal amount as liquidated damages (total of $14.50 per hour), for each hour worked as well as a refund of all charges, fines and fees paid by dancers to the club and/or other club personnel.
