With over twenty years of experience in both the private sector and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) Competent Authority office (presently known as the Advance Pricing and Mutual Agreement (APMA) office), Mantegani brings to U.S. Tax IQ a substantial amount of expertise in advising multinational enterprises and small to medium size businesses on a variety of transfer pricing matters.
As U.S. Tax IQ gears up for further growth and expansion, the international tax consulting firm looks forward to having an experienced transfer pricing advisor in Barbara Mantegani join their team in providing U.S. and Canadian clients with further in-depth knowledge and experience in navigating multinational tax systems and the specific laws and regulations.
U.S. Tax IQ principals Manasuev and Vucen note that the addition of Mantegani to their team of international tax specialists signals a new era of growth for the company. The increasing complexities of cross-border tax compliance and planning, evident in the issues faced by current and prospective U.S. Tax IQ clients, with the IRS and the Canada Revenue Agency, necessitate a bigger commitment to growth and international expansion.
The vast amount of tax expertise that Mantegani brings is greatly welcomed by U.S. Tax IQ, as her invaluable experience will contribute to the firm’s proficiency in transfer pricing planning and contemporaneous documentation, transfer pricing audit defense, in addition to U.S. tax and U.S. international tax matters affecting small to medium size businesses. With this strategic talent acquisition, U.S. Tax IQ will be better equipped to assist its current and prospective clients with high-quality tax advice on the finer points of today’s cross-border tax laws and intersecting international taxes. The affiliation with Mantegani Tax PLLC will result in better tax planning, structuring, and compliance, which will be further enhanced by the current knowledge of tax laws and economic developments; keen financial expertise; and experience with cross-border and international consulting and compliance.
A former Competent Authority Analyst and APA Team Leader at the U.S. Competent Authority office and Advance Pricing and Mutual Agreement office, Mantegani’s experience includes negotiating the settlement of numerous double tax cases and advance pricing agreements with tax authorities of multiple jurisdictions, including Belgium, Canada, Denmark, India, and Japan. She brings this expertise in dispute resolution to U.S. Tax IQ, to provide assistance to clients that either have exposure to or are already exposed to double taxation (for example, due to tax adjustments by tax authorities).
In the private sector, Mantegani has worked as a tax advisor for both a global law firm and at various major accounting firms. Her work focuses on providing tax advice to multinational enterprises regarding a number of taxation matters, such as the planning and development of a global transfer pricing strategy, contemporaneous documentation and transfer pricing analysis, cost sharing agreements, global restructuring, and treaty-based dispute resolution.
Mantegani brings her varied tax and legal expertise, and superb technical writing and analysis background, as she joins U.S. Tax IQ and contributes to the growth of the practice by offering tax consulting services for treaty-related projects, Advance Pricing Agreement projects, Competent Authority requests for assistance, transfer pricing documentation review and analysis, general transfer pricing advice, as well as transfer pricing audit defense assistance.
