"We are very pleased with the strategic license partnership with Potter Electric,” said Jeff Kochelek, CEO of Engineered Corrosion Solutions."
ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) February 15, 2018
Engineered Corrosion Solutions and Potter Electric Signal Company announce a license agreement for Potter to practice the use of ECS patents 9,186,533 and 9,144,700, which disclose the use of a nitrogen generator with a vent on dry pipe and preaction fire sprinkler systems.
The nitrogen generator can be used in place of a conventional air compressor for pressurizing the piping network with nitrogen and maintaining a “supervisory” or system pressure until the sprinkler system is actuated (e.g., by fire). The vent allows gas, in particular oxygen displaced by the nitrogen, to exit the piping network while maintaining the system pressure. The nitrogen generator combined with the vent removes trapped air and decreases the concentration of oxygen in the piping network to inhibit corrosion, including microbiologically influenced corrosion (“MIC”) and oxygen cell corrosion.
The agreement allows for Potter to practice the ECS Invention moving forward pursuant to a royalty-bearing license. “Potter is very happy to move forward with this agreement as it solidifies our position in the marketplace and protects Potter’s customers moving forward,” said Sean Heskett, President of Potter’s Sprinkler Monitoring Division.
“We are very pleased with the strategic license partnership with Potter Electric,” said Jeff Kochelek, CEO of Engineered Corrosion Solutions. “Having Potter Electric license the use of ECS intellectual property highlights the importance and strength of the ‘533 and ‘700 patents.”
