DALTON, Ga. (PRWEB) February 16, 2018 -- The dictionary defines “Elite” as the choice or best of anything collectively, as of a group or class of persons. When Rekortan set forth to establish a team of elite runners they went after the choice or best that the sport had to offer.
Rekortan is proud to announce the formation of “Rekortan Elite”, a team of male and female runners that are well accomplished and at the top of their class. Rekortan Elite will be heavily involved in the sport of Track & Field at the highest global level. This international track team will be comprised of a men’s 4x100 relay team and an incredible women’s team of top class runners. Please join us in welcoming the first two members of the team, Joanna Atkins and Ayana Walker. They will be running in their first races under the Rekortan banner at the USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, NM during the weekend of February 16th through the 18th.
Joanna Atkins ran track for Auburn University where in 2009 she took first place at the NCAA Women’s D1 Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 400 meter dash and was also the Southeastern Conference Champion in the same event. Joanna has gold medaled in the 4x400 relay in the World Championships in Moscow in 2013, at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot Poland in 2014 and in the World Relay Championships in Nassau in 2014. She attended Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, GA.
Ayana Walker is one of the young, bright stars in the track world. She first obtained notoriety as an NCAA Champion when she won the women’s 400 meter national Indoor Track & Field title in 2015. In the prior year, Ayana was a two-time NCCAA national outdoor champion in the 400 meter dash and the 4x400 meter relay. The record book at Shorter University is loaded with Ayana’s honors and her long list of accomplishments also includes being named first team USTFCCCA All-American. Rekortan is pleased to have such amazing athletes on the “Elite” team.
“Some of the greatest runners in the sport today are recognizing Rekortan as the leader in performance, innovation and speed,” said Gary Wilson, Rekortan Global Executive VP. “The entire list of athletes that we will soon be announcing is going to be impressive by anyone’s standards. This definitely sets Rekortan apart in the industry and demonstrates our commitment to Track & Field like no one else.”
Rekortan will be announcing the Men’s 4x100 Relay Team members in the next couple of weeks. The team will represent the brand in high profile races throughout 2018. The Rekortan Elite team is expected to grow as more and more athletes look for any possible advantage to make them better and as they recognize the edge that training on a Rekortan track can give them. Rekortan systems are known as the fast tracks powered by speed!
