SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) February 16, 2018 -- Fandor®, the streaming service with the largest collection of independent films, documentaries, international features and shorts, has announced the expansion of the C-Suite executive team with the appointments of a Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Engineering Officer.
Felice Oper has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Oper previously served as General Counsel and Chief Distribution Officer of the Company, and will continue to serve as Fandor’s General Counsel. In her role as COO, in addition to her continued duties overseeing legal, business development and distribution, Oper assumes oversight of the Company’s Programming and Marketing groups, as well as the Product and Engineering teams.
Oper joined Fandor in 2015 as General Counsel and in 2016 assumed the roles of Head of Business Development and Chief Distribution Officer, overseeing the Company’s subscription and distribution teams. Under Oper’s leadership, Fandor’s on-platform subscription base has grown by 10x and the Company further expanded its distribution through the launch of Fandor on such OTT platforms as Amazon Prime Channels, SlingTV, CenturyLink Stream and YouTube Red. She has also engineered alliances with MoviePass and Costco, launching the sale of the Movie Lover’s Package both on http://www.costco.com and on http://www.moviepass.com, and Vizio on which Fandor will be launched this spring.
“Felice has proven time and again that she is committed to helping Fandor reach new heights in the OTT space,” states Fandor CEO, Larry Aidem. “Her exemplary knowledge and dedication in leading our subscription and distribution teams has, and will continue to, support the growth and development of partnerships that makes the finest movie selection more accessible to our customers.”
Fandor’s promotion of Oper to COO continues the trend of women entering top executive ranks in the Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) sector.
“Felice’s track record and increased level of responsibility serves as a strong statement to women both inside the Company and throughout the industry that the time for gender equality in the C-Suite has arrived,” continued Aidem.
The position of Fandor’s Chief Product Engineering Officer will be helmed by TS Ramakrishnan. Mr. Ramakrishnan joins the team to lead an exciting reboot for Fandor to enhance the overall customer experience. His previous work in the Internet and technology space includes noteworthy positions as Head of Engineering for Yahoo! Messenger and Mobile, and VP of Product Engineering at Facebook.
Aidem stated, “As the Fandor brand matures and evolves, we are devoted to providing the highest level of movie and editorial content to our customers. TS’s expertise in uniting these efforts affords Fandor the opportunity to grow our brand, while providing an unparalleled movie experience to our customers.”
“I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the addition of TS to the Fandor team. His breadth of experience in Silicon Valley and the digital space will enable Fandor to further develop the Company’s unparalleled user experience enabling us to further grow the Fandor community,” commented Oper.
The C-Suite Executive appointments follow news announced earlier this month of a new annual subscription plan for Fandor’s partnership with MoviePass. The plan includes unlimited movies for an entire year, and access to stream the full Fandor content library for a year. The limited time offer is available only through MoviePass and lowers the monthly price from $9.95 to $7.95.
